Hey Everyone,

Sorry for the slight change in format this month, Linda is out of the country, so I’m winging it! I’m such a techno dweeb!

We will meet at the Library Annex Building in Issaquah at 9am Saturday March 21st, those wanting breakfast will meet at the Egg & I in the Gillman Village at 8am. This month we will be tying the Rainbow, from Hardy and Hale and work on a multi sectioned seal fur body. It has 5 sections and it will give you a chance to try out Don’s body divider cards to get an even well balanced body. The rest of the fly is pretty straight forward, having most of the accouterments found in Classic Salmon Flies. I will be tying it on a 3/0xxx Harrison hook from Byron, think about your hook selection and the body having 5 sections, perhaps a long shank hook would be a good choice as well.

Albany Fly Expo is set for the 13th and 14th of March and it looks like we will have a good showing of Guild members tying there, be sure to wear your Guild shirts and name tags. Seating this year has room for a “Buddy tier”, so don’t hesitate having someone sit next to you. We usually show up in Albany on Thursday afternoon, so we don’t have to drive in the early morning to get there. We usually go to the Calapooia Brewery 140 Hill St. NE in Albany for dinner and a craft beer (Thurs night).
Then on Saturday night we are invited to Todd and Linda Yorke’s house for dinner which you don’t want to miss, it’s always a great time visiting with friends, BYOB.

We have invited Kevin Nadeau from Quebec Canada as our featured guest for April. Kevin is a talented tier and we should learn a lot from him as he spends the weekend with us. Please set that time aside as we would like a good audience from our members. We are scheduled for April 18th and 19th, Mark is checking in on the availability of the Library for the weekend. I will forward more information as it becomes available.

We had a great showing last month for Hunters Blacker tying presentation, lots of great questions, and conversation some pretty good patterns were tied from Hunters fine demonstration, thank you. As usual we have a nice showing from our out of state members and those who couldn’t attend, utilizing Marks on line video work so a big thanks to Mark for his hard work.

I will have the coffee on, cold beverages in the cooler and look forward to seeing you all on the 21st.
